About Hindi

There are around 425 million native speakers of Hindi, with 120 million speaking it as a second language. It is spoken in much of north and central India, and there is a significant number of Hindi speakers in other parts of the world including in South Africa, Fiji and Nepal. Hindi is not as hard to learn as you might think – you’ll find many familiar words in English which are either Hindi or of Hindi origin, while Hindi itself also uses lots of English words.

LISTEN, ABSORB AND SPEAK HINDI NATURALLY

This 1-hour digital taster course is for beginners who are new to the Michel Thomas Method. Learn over 20 essential words at the heart of Hindi and how to put them together to make yourself understood. From the very beginning you will be able to construct simple phrases by listening and thinking out answers for yourself. During the course, you will join Michel Thomas Method teacher and native speaker Akshay Bakaya and 2 students in a live lesson. The course will take about 3-4 hours to complete and is available to stream or download via the Michel Thomas Method Library app. It is the first hour of the Foundation course.

Foundation Hindi

LISTEN, ABSORB AND SPEAK HINDI NATURALLY

Foundation Hindi is about getting Hindi under your skin instantly, getting you to speak effortlessly, with all the punch and vigour of a native speaker. During this 8-hour digital course you will learn the language along with 2 students, using their mistakes and successes to stay motivated and involved for the duration of the course. Within the first hour you will be able to construct simple sentences. By the end of the course, you will have the confidence to understand and speak basic Hindi. You will learn at your own pace, pausing and repeating where necessary, and complete the course in about 20-30 hours. This course is available to stream or download via the Michel Thomas Method Library app.

This course incorporates the Start course.
